The grumbles about 'a lost opportunity' continue to grow for the 1.0 version of Apple's iPad announced to great fanfare last week. Guess most of us will be waiting to see 2.0.
That wasn't holding back Crikey.com, when they declared that "Kindle is rooted." I tend to agree. Apple are very good at putting a bunch of related functions together rather than leaving things as single function tools. And that's why Crikey is right - Amazon's Kindle just does one thing only, and not well enough or cheaply enough to make it a compelling stand-alone tool. Then again, while the iPad might make a brilliant 'coffee table computer' and nicely replace the ubiquitous TV programs (one less reason for buying a newspaper), not sure how many people would pull one out of their bag on the bus ride to work...?
Meanwhile, Hitler is having no second thoughts - he is not happy about it:
