The validity of some of the key economic indicators that drive so much of government and business decision-making is increasingly being questioned. Chief among them are the Gross Domestic Product and the Consumer Price Index.
Peter Martin (former Canberra Times and current Age economics journalist) reports that the Reserve Bank of Australia agrees - on the CPI problems at least.
And given one of the RBA's key roles is to target CPI, that's a big admission.
But as always with un-sexy economic news, who's listening?
