Not sure I understand what people thought was going to happen with Twitter. I mean here we have millions of people spilling often too much personal information out into the public realm, on this free service.
Did people seriously think Twitter wasn't going to try to cash in on this somewhere along the line? Did they really think that a few 140 character paid tweets was going to pay for the service?
So why the outrage from some quarters to the news that
Twitter has sold access to some two years worth of tweets to businesses?
If people have privacy concerns about what they tweet, then the solution is simple: don't tweet private details. That's the thing about social media - everything's public. Remember it.
