Many people would already be a bit concerned about how much Google knows about their lives. And Facebook for that matter. Oh and don't forget Apple - that Siri business ain't there for your benefit you do realise?
And it was a curious juxtaposition to this that Google boss Larry Page launched a campaign to recover the "Love and Trust":
We have always wanted Google to be a company that is deserving of great love...We have always believed that it’s possible to make money without being evil.
Hmm... His whole CEO Message is well worth a read. If - like me - a lot of your online life is wrapped around Google services, it helps to have an insight into the head honcho's mindset.
So maybe Google Glass would be fine as long as you can bolt down the privacy and security - and we ALL do that right? Right? [crickets chirping...]
But perhaps the scariest aspect of the whole idea is the prospect of half the world walking around wearing glasses that would make Clark Kent look pretty cool! No matter how good looking the woman you display them on...
Yeah thanks Google - come back when you've got corneal impacts figured out OK?
