20 kilometre high Mars tornado makes the March one look like a willy willy!

Recently NASA's HiRise camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter caught this picture of an amazing 20 kilometre high tornado. (Click to embiggerate.)

NASA has put together a short animation of what this huge twister would look like from a perspective view. Click over to their site to watch it.

To think that in March everyone was getting excited about another Mars tornado that was about one kilometre high! This video clip about that one also explains how NASA extrapolated the data to provide the animation and calculate the size of each twister:
