SpaceX is one of four private company contenders for NASA's ongoing business of shipping people and supplies to the International Space Station - and possiblly other missions further afield!

But first it has to be able to demonstrate that it can reliably launch, dock with the ISS, and safety return to terra firma.

The computer shut down the weekend's launch attempt with just half a second to go. But with the faulty valve replaced and all the others double/triple checked, we are good to go for a second attempt this afternoon.

The weather conditions are 90% favourable in Florida right now.

The launch time is 17:44 Canberra time, which is 07:44UTC or 03:44US EDT - which you can be sure has a whole lot of US space fans REAL happy! But for once a launch time is perfect for us in Australia - as long as we can get home from work quickly!
