The US spooks are outdoing themselves with the public relations work lately - and with their launch-fest.

Today's secret payload is sitting atop a Delta IV Heavy. That is one big rocket ship.

The launch was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but Hurricane Debbie put paid to that and the ship was put back away in safety. But now the range is clear and conditions green.

Today's launch attempt has had two aborts already for fuel and valve sensor issues, with the "do over" for launch attempt number 3 about 21:58 Canberra time.

Fingers crossed (in a scientific non-superstitious way) for attempt 3.
