Here's my best shot of the ingress of Venus this morning, followed by other shots from start to fully inside the disc of the Sun.
Unfortunately the 25mm eyepiece zooms a bit too close in to get the entire Sun in shot. Need a 32mm or similar...
Equipment is a 200m Dobsonian, Canon EOS 600D, Saxon variable eyepiece adapter, Baader solar filter film.
All the pics have been compressed to about 1.5MB to be easier to view.

It is designed to maintain the natural white light of the Sun, rather than the red, orange, yellow and even green that many other filters give.
So if you think about the light, all colours are present in sunlight - that's why it is white.
So the Baader film must filter all parts of the spectrum equally, except probably taking all UV out.
An orange picture means the filter lets more red light through, a little more green, but substantially less blue.
