Eye in the Mars sky catches Curiosity on the way down. Awesome photo!

An outstanding outcome for the Mars Curiosity team yesterday, and more to come on the day at the Canberra Deep Space Communications Centre when my day job doesn't get it the way of this more interesting stuff.

But a quick post to share what will become one of the iconic photos of the entire mission.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter managed a coup with this photo of Curiosity on the way down to the red planet under its supersonic parachute:
