Italy prides itself on being the purveyor of style. And if they can do this for the humble district shopping centre, then it will be a reputation well-earned. Such a gorgeous organic shape - leaves your garden-variety Woollies Marketplace gasping...
dvice reports that this centre - designed by award-winning architect Zaha Hadid - will be built near Venice Italy by 2014.
If the final product is close to this, while not being eroded by the commercial realities of marketing signage and hectares of bitumen carparking, and while also delivering a functional and exciting shopping experience on the inside, then it will be a major achievment well worth celebrating.
One thing for sure - the ubiquitous golden arches signage would blend in fairly well!
