First photo of a planet outside our solar system

Canadian scientists have released this amazing first picture of a planet around another sun.

The star is about 500 light years away, and is only a few million years old (ours is 5 billion).

Interesting that such a large planet has formed so quickly, but it seems this is why it is visible to us - it is still very hot, so shows up in this infrared photo.
