Neat photo from Cassini around Saturn - Mimas peeks from behind Dione

Moons of Saturn - Mimas peeking from behind Dione
Saturn is rising early now for good evening viewing. Our 8-inch telescope shows the rings beautifully and clearly. I'll be taking it to the Harrison Scout Cubs this week to show the kids. Hopefully Saturn will be up in time and the skies clear.

Meanwhile here's a great photo by Cassini - of Saturn's moon Mimas (326kms) playing peekaboo from behind the much larger Dione (1123kms). For stunning detail, click the pic to embiggerate, and for relevant word details, the Ciclops website.

Via Cassini mission leader, the wonderful Carolyn Porco.
