What a lovely way to cap off a work week - a huge Ariane 5 space ship blasting off from French Guiana in clear weather to robotically deliver supplies to the International Space Station.

Seems NASA and the ESA have given up on Russia's strife-plagued Soyuz launchers for the time being, and are going instead with the reliable European Ariane workhorse. This will be the 205th Ariane launch since they commenced service in 1979.
