Gmail users get a bit frustrated with the standard Apple iPhone email app. You can't allocate multiple labels - one of the real features of Gmail. And there are a bunch of other Gmail features you can't use. And trying to use the mobile web Gmail version instead is also compromised.
So it was great news from Google that they had released a native iPhone app for Gmail to the Apple App Store.
Alas, it didn't last, and I wasn't quick enough:
Update: 11/2/11: Earlier today we launched a new Gmail app for iOS. Unfortunately, it contained a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app. We’ve removed the app while we correct the problem, and we’re working to bring you a new version soon. Everyone who’s already installed the app can continue to use it.
