You and I may not be likely to fly to space, but we will soon be able to try flying the shuttle simulator

NASA has donated their Space Shuttle flight simulator to Texas A&M University, where it will be available to students as well as members of the public.

Initially, the simulator will be run on a static base. But in time they intend to install it on top of the hydraulic motion simulating base. Then the real fun will begin!

CollectSpace.com reports that the entire setup can be a cantankerous beast, so they've also supplied a full set of spares, instructions and have expertise on tap.

It promises to be a very popular attraction...
